Frequently Asked Questions
How are the English Spot courses structured?
Unless otherwise stated, most courses take 12 weeks to complete and consist of four three-week long modules. In order to pass the course all four modules must be successfully completed. Please refer to the School Calendar for details.
What do I need to access virtual classrooms?
All you need is a computer with an internet connection and a headset. As an option, if you also want to be seen by your teacher, you will need a webcam.
What kind of experience can I expect in an English Spot virtual classroom?
Our teaching method uses videoconferencing technology which means that you sit at home in front of your computer and see the teacher live on your computer screen. You can hear, speak, and ask questions through your headset. This means that in many ways the course is even more interactive than studying in a large classroom. Besides interacting with your teacher, you can also communicate with your fellow classmates who share the same experience as you.
How much does it cost?
The price of each course module is listed on the course description page. You can purchase just one or multiple modules. English Spot accepts PayPal payments as well as all major international credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express). Note: All our prices are listed in US Dollars.
Are there any other registration or membership fees?
No. Registration with English-Spot is free. The only fee you need to pay is the course fee. In many cases the course fee also covers the cost of your study materials but in some courses you will also be required to purchase your own textbook. This information can be found on the course description page.
How do I sign up to take a course?
To sign up simply register on the English Spot website, log in, and purchase your selection of modules. Once you do that, our academic adviser will contact you shortly.
How do I know what level I should register for?
If you’re not sure which course to take, an optional evaluation of your current skill level can be arranged online with one of our counselors. Click here to book an appointment.
What happens if I realize the level I registered in is too hard or too easy?
If during the first week of your classes you find that the level is too easy or too difficult for you, you can request a transfer to a different level by notifying your teacher.
What if I need additional help with my homework?
In addition to your regular scheduled lessons, you can request a 30 minute one-on-one session with our pedagogical staff to work on any particular assignment. Click here to book an appointment.
